About ZCacheLib
The goal of the ZCacheLib Project is to foster the creation of a thriving
community of third-party tools and components providers for the Caché
environment. The intended ways to achieve this are:
- Providing the wish list so that developers
can issue and vote on their suggestions to enhance the platform, giving a
vehicle for InterSystems and third parties to gauge the needs of the user
base and provide solutions in the way they see fit
- Providing a repository of open source components, adhering to certain
standards and conventions to ease their adoption and under a
commercially-friendly license to allow third parties to add value to these
offerings
- Generally, lowering the entry barrier for software providers, by removing
the initial cost to develop and test an idea and providing a larger prospective
customer base, hopefully ripening the market to more mature commercial siblings
of the Project's offerings and adding value to the platform for the benefit of
users, consultants and third-party vendors.
These activities have been successfully embraced by other development communities
and are proven to deliver their goal. It is the goal of the ZCacheLib Project to
introduce them to the Caché community in a non-disruptive fashion.
The software industry is changing by leaps and bounds in this era of
globalisation and cutthroat competition. Help yourself to be more efficient by
helping us shape the future of Caché!
